BASS Medical Group just opened a new state-of-the-art, comprehensive cancer center in Walnut Creek. The new location allows patients suffering from cancer to get treatment closer to home without traveling to San Francisco, Stanford, or Sacramento.
BASS tapped longtime Atomic partner Mnemonic to help bring awareness to the new center with a pair of broadcast commercials. The Mnemonic and Atomic developed two spots based on a “What’s Next” concept.
Atomic auditioned and cast several actors, including featured and background roles, before heading to the Walnut Creek location one weekend before the center opened.
“They didn’t even have any real medical equipment in the building yet,” laughs Atomic’s Production Manager Lucy Nazareno, “except for some giant MRI machine that we couldn’t get close to.”
The Atomic production crew and actors took over the center for two days to create the assets, which were taken to the company’s Emeryville headquarters and edited into the “What’s Next — Personal Care” and “What’s Next — Advanced Technology” spots.
