Conspiracy.

Over the years we’ve edited and shot a few independent feature films, but we’ve never done anything of our making.
It’s something we always talked about and had no excuse not to do — we had the people on staff, the equipment, and edit suites to produce something. We just never found the time.
In 2016, we wrote, produced, shot, and edited a short film entirely with our staff. Except for actors, this truly was an Atomic production.
The film is currently in post-production and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018. You can learn more at its IMDB page.
Most of the scenes in the film take place at night, and often after a full day of work we would shoot overnights to complete principal photography in eight days.
We purposefully waited until the winter months to shoot when the nights were long. This made for interesting times shooting during very cold and rainy periods. One night was cancelled when a 20’x20’ greenscreen could not be safely rigged because of wind. A day-for-night shoot took its place the following morning. The crew was really happy about that.
The idea for the script came from a project where we were transferring old VHS home movies to digital form and came across a visit to the World Trade Center in the 90’s. Playing off the success of “found footage” concepts we asked, “What if?” What if that footage was from the morning of 9/11? Not being conspiracy theorists, but knowing a good story when we find one, we doctored the images with some whizzbang visual effects and built a story around this “found footage” and how it eventually revealed… you guessed it, a “Conspiracy.” You’ll have to watch the film to find out more.

Client:

Atomic Production (Yes. Us.)

Notes:

Shot on the Red Dragon in 6K using exclusively Atomic’s equipment and personnel, the movie is 30 minutes long. The only element that will be completed outside of Atomic is the film’s score.

Atomic Productions is a full service film production company driven by customer service and creativity. Oh, and we watch Jeopardy during lunch.
